Summary

What do a heartless Dragon Shifter, a cold-blooded Basilisk, an arrogant Lion Shifter and a brooding, tattooed Harpie have in common…?

Me。

Elise Callisto。 Vampire。 Badass。 And a girl on a mission to destroy one of them for murdering my brother。 I just don’t know which one did it yet。

When I kicked the ass of a Werewolf who was high on a new and dangerous drug called Killblaze, his final words painted a dark reality for me。 The King of Aurora Academy killed my brother。 The trouble is, there’s four kings at that school and each of them have motive and cutthroat natures。

Aurora Academy isn’t a place for the faint of heart。 To put it lightly, my town is the asshole of Solaria where the dodgiest Fae in the kingdom reside。 The school itself is divided by the two gangs who run this town。 The Lunar Brotherhood and the Oscura Clan。 And guess what? Two of the kings run the gangs at the school, their hatred for each other so fierce I hear a day doesn’t go by without blood being spilled in the halls。

I might be a petite, lilac-haired girl who looks like a fragile doll, but they haven’t been introduced to my fangs yet。 And they don’t know why I’m really here。 Or that I’ll do whatever it takes to bring down the Fae who took my flesh and blood from me。

I don’t believe in fate, but I do know this… the King who killed my brother is a dead man walking。 And I’m prepared to sacrifice my heart, body and soul to ensure I get my revenge

This is a reverse harem series set in the world of Zodiac Academy four years before the Vega Twins were Awakened。 Expect some character cross-over, dark and hot romance, and a twisted murder mystery which will leave your head spinning。

This spin off series is interesting in its own way。 But I must admit that it is a bit on the slower side and slightly darker than the Zodiac series (which already has some questionable characters)。 It intrigued me enough to finish the book, but I felt like at the end of a significantly large book we were no closer to solving the murder mystery。 I may continue on with the series in the future or not, we shall see。 However, I will be continuing on with the Zodiac Academy series because I am still This spin off series is interesting in its own way。 But I must admit that it is a bit on the slower side and slightly darker than the Zodiac series (which already has some questionable characters)。 It intrigued me enough to finish the book, but I felt like at the end of a significantly large book we were no closer to solving the murder mystery。 I may continue on with the series in the future or not, we shall see。 However, I will be continuing on with the Zodiac Academy series because I am still quite invested in that。 。。。more

These books just blow me away!! I’ve broken away from ZA to read this series and wasn’t sure if the characters would measure up to the twins and the heirs but boy do they。 These 4 kings are just as hot and Elise is such a great FMC, she is a badass vampire that takes no messing!! The story was exciting with a mystery element which I liked, it was also super hot at times。 Can’t wait to read book 2。

I honestly don’t know what to say I enjoyed ZA so much but this one didn’t meet the same expectations。。 I enjoyed the book don’t get me wrong but I was expecting more

This book was just okay。 I think I went into it with high expectations after starting the Zodiac Academy series。 I will finish this series but mostly because people say to read this one before the last three of Zodiac Academy so that jokes are funnier and you understand more。

After her brother's death, Elise goes to the academy to find his murderer。 The only problem is that there are 4 Kings who could have done it—Gabriel, Ryder, Dante and Leon。 Elise will need to figure out whom she can trust and stop a new King from committing more murderers。 It's my first time reading something from these authors, and I'm so in love with the series! I am absolutely obsessed with Caroline Peckhams Zodiac 3 series。 Emotional roller coaster and constantly breaking my heart but mending it with the grade A++++ raunchy scenes。 I love the different views of main characters in different story lines。 Lines up so well and you really get to know everyone。 I did like the entire 4 different mates in this series - for once we get all the love interests haha。One thing really dislike - the covers of these books。。。。 definitely horrible and not train reading I am absolutely obsessed with Caroline Peckhams Zodiac 3 series。 Emotional roller coaster and constantly breaking my heart but mending it with the grade A++++ raunchy scenes。 I love the different views of main characters in different story lines。 Lines up so well and you really get to know everyone。 I did like the entire 4 different mates in this series - for once we get all the love interests haha。One thing really dislike - the covers of these books。。。。 definitely horrible and not train reading worthy haha 。。。more

As I am an addict to ZA and the last book doesn't come out until December, I decided to read the prequel series as I decided I don't ever want to sleep again。 This book had a slow story as it is introducing all the characters but I like what has been set up。 I haven't decided a favorite/book boyfriend from this series yet。 Ratings: Angst: 3/5 teenagers Spice: 4/5 peppers 。。。 As I am an addict to ZA and the last book doesn't come out until December, I decided to read the prequel series as I decided I don't ever want to sleep again。 This book had a slow story as it is introducing all the characters but I like what has been set up。 I haven't decided a favorite/book boyfriend from this series yet。 Ratings: Angst: 3/5 teenagers Spice: 4/5 peppers 。。。 。。。more

When I first picked up with book, my expectations were high。 And I wasn’t disappointed。 Mostly。 It is described as a RH, but there isn’t any in this first book。 There are maybe 2 spicy scenes I can recall, but lots of sexual tension and teasing with all four Kings of the Academy。 I suppose this makes up for it。The mystery element that we just finally get our clutches into a real lead at the end is fantastic。 It keeps you wondering, especially as we see things from Gareth’s point of view。 I hate When I first picked up with book, my expectations were high。 And I wasn’t disappointed。 Mostly。 It is described as a RH, but there isn’t any in this first book。 There are maybe 2 spicy scenes I can recall, but lots of sexual tension and teasing with all four Kings of the Academy。 I suppose this makes up for it。The mystery element that we just finally get our clutches into a real lead at the end is fantastic。 It keeps you wondering, especially as we see things from Gareth’s point of view。 I hate cliffhangers, but this one made sense。 Plus, we are also wondering what’s going on with Ryder at the end as we catch a glimpse of what’s happening and then it isn’t revisited。 Thank god the rest of the books are already out。 Overall it was a nice easy read, I enjoyed the multiple perspectives and can’t wait to read the next one! 。。。more

So far I’m enjoying the characters and it’s fun being back in Solaria。 Love Gabriel and Leon, but since I’ve read Zodiac Academy…I had a feeling I’d be partial to them。 Overall a decent start to the series。 The pacing was slow for my liking, but since it’s the first one I’m not too concerned

I read the Zodiac Academy and realized at some point during that series that there was a series that came before it! So I'm back tracking。 And after seeing several of these characters that made an appearance in Zodiac Academy, I'm happy to finally get their stories! The glimpses of them weren't enough and are so different from what I saw in Dark Fae, so I'm looking forward to getting through this series。 So this story follows multiple characters but at the core it is about Elise。 Elise who lost I read the Zodiac Academy and realized at some point during that series that there was a series that came before it! The glimpses of them weren't enough and are so different from what I saw in Dark Fae, so I'm looking forward to getting through this series。 So this story follows multiple characters but at the core it is about Elise。 Elise who lost her brother and knows that someone caused his death。 Her clue to his death is that someone called the King killed him at Aurora Academy。 And there are 4 known Kings who run that school。 So the question is who did it? And why? She is able to sneak her way into the academy as a student and investigates to figure out what her brother was up to and what led him to his death。 What she never expected was to be drawn in by the four Kings, Gabriel, Dante, Ryder, and Leon, and for them to all have an interest as her as well。 Also, flashbacks of Elise's brother, Gareth, reveal his time at the academy and what he was up to。 Really loved this story! There are so many elements playing at once and you just never know what is going to happen。 All of these characters are super interesting and I can't wait to see where this series goes and how everything plays out。 。。。more

3。5 Faetal Attraction starsSo I’m back on my zodiac BS。 The sisters have done the unthinkable and made me want to binge all their series set in the ZA world, and I started with the Ruthless boys because of the strong connections with the present day ZA kids。 It’s a reverse harem series as is widely known, so I was a bit apprehensive but I like the characters I’d met and it’s complete so why not。 Right off the bat, it feels like Veronica Mars meets the zodiac world, and I was here for it。 Althoug 3。5 Faetal Attraction starsSo I’m back on my zodiac BS。 The sisters have done the unthinkable and made me want to binge all their series set in the ZA world, and I started with the Ruthless boys because of the strong connections with the present day ZA kids。 It’s a reverse harem series as is widely known, so I was a bit apprehensive but I like the characters I’d met and it’s complete so why not。 Right off the bat, it feels like Veronica Mars meets the zodiac world, and I was here for it。 Although it does feel like we got only about a quarter of a first season, since we don’t get too far in solving the mystery, and it ends rather abruptly。 The pacing is not quite as brutal like the ZA books and it did drag a little due to the flashbacks etc, but I was hooked regardless。 The authors seem to have a knack for writing these strong boss arse females and Elise is yet another example。 A vampire and true predator, she can hold her own against the worst of them。 And does。 She has the Aurora boys wrapped around her little finger, and she’s out for blood。 Her grief and coping mechanisms are handled especially well, fueling her thirst for vengeance。 I’m still making up my mind about her, but she just feels like a heroine who can eventually handle being in a relationship with 4 intense alpha males, all at once。 It ain’t easy being partner to one of these alphaholes, let alone 4, and you need ovaries of steel for it。 Literally and figuratively。Speaking of the a-holes, Gabriel is my favorite, for obvious reasons, even though he is rather a different person from the one I know and love。 Dragon Dante and Leo the Lion are close, and I just can’t seem to care about Ryder yet, even with some backstory。 I don’t know how balanced or otherwise this romantic dynamic is going to end up being, but I like that all 4 of them appeal to different parts of her personality and serve a different purpose in her healing。 Ryder is the Dom (this is all me guessing we don’t know yet) or the one who helps her deal with her pain in his own effed up way。 On the flip side, Leon is the Joker (for the lack of a better term), the one who brings her the joy she’s so lacking。 Dante is the Protector, the big bad one who wants her safe at all times (okay when he’s not the one messing with her)。 Gabriel is the…well he’s something obvious when you read it, but I also feel like he’s more and I haven’t pinpointed it yet。 Let’s call him the Lover for now。 All this and more will probably change once secrets start coming to light, and this isn’t a bully romance per se, but I have a feeling things are about to blow up soon。 Because just when you think these guys aren’t as bad or insane as the ZA guys, stuff goes down and you realize they’re all complete psychos as well。 。。。more

I'm absolutely kicking myself for putting off reading this for so long。 I think I was worried it wouldn't live up to Zodiac Academy, but Caroline Peckham and Suzanne Valenti have done it again。 I love these characters just as much as those in ZA, if not more。 Although the Zodiac Academy and Ruthless Boys series can be read in any order without spoilers, I would definitely suggest reading ZA first。 Zodiac academy explains the world of Solaria and some of the inner workings of fae and magic in muc I'm absolutely kicking myself for putting off reading this for so long。 I think I was worried it wouldn't live up to Zodiac Academy, but Caroline Peckham and Suzanne Valenti have done it again。 I love these characters just as much as those in ZA, if not more。 Although the Zodiac Academy and Ruthless Boys series can be read in any order without spoilers, I would definitely suggest reading ZA first。 Zodiac academy explains the world of Solaria and some of the inner workings of fae and magic in much more detail。 You don't necessarily miss out on anything in Ruthless Boys, but I think the more complete understanding that I have from ZA enhanced the reading experience in this for sure。 But you'll have to excuse me - I have to go binge read the rest of this series! 。。。more

I wish it was a joke。This is one of the WORST books I've ever read。 Actually I had to stop reading and download it as an audiobook。 This has good ratings because people read this BEFORE they read Zodiac Academy, I'm convinced。 Because if they had read ZA before this, they too would give it 1 star。 I don't know what happened to the writing, but this reads as unsmutty fanfiction。 The beautiful, witty, creative writing you saw in ZA? GONE。 Good thing they didn't try to sell these books first or the authors certainly wouldn't have the fandom that they have now。 I wanted to be nice in this review, I did。 Initially, I thought I was just bitter。 Hungover even from ZA。 But now I have read another series (ACOTAR, which the author too ruined after the 3rd book), and come back to this and the feeling is still the same。 Elise is honestly insufferable。 She's not witty, she's not smart, she's not anything she thinks she is。 I wanted to love her SO bad being that she was Gabriels mate in ZA。 I wanted to find what made him so smitten。。。but I'm left feeling like he was robbed of what he truly deserves。 I'm all for a good hoe phase, but Elise is。。。different。 She thinks with her pp and her pp only。 "I'm just thinkin with my dick。 My shit dumb" 🎶🎶yeah that's Elise。 These men possibly murdered her brother and she's like "he looks fuckable" 20 million times。 At this point, fuck them all and move on。 You clearly stopped caring after you fucked Gabriel。 She gives me Tory Vega vibes。。。but on a dumber, weaker, hornier more insufferable way。 Half of the time she had me agreeing with Cindy Poo。 Gabriel acts like a school shooter。 There I said it, everyone's thinking it。 I don't know how she managed to make me not care for him, but she did。 I heard this changes throughout RB though。Leo? I heard he carried the series but all I got from this is a stoner lion who likes to steal but treats ELISE well, not women but Elise alone。Ryder, well he likes pain of course! That's all we know about him though since the authors took it upon themselves to tell us that and only that about him 2000 times。 I like him, but only because I am admittedly a toxic person who enjoys crazy intolerable men as a side gig。 Dante, well he's actually just Diego, just as a dragon and "Faetalian"。。。I honestly think the authors have white, english speaking friends and english speaking only。 Because the way they write bilingual characters is cringey at best and straight up insulting & prejudice at worst。 I truly truly don't know how they fucked up so much, the characters and world building in ZA was UNMATCHABLE。。。but this, it's like they saw how popular ZA got and some of their other series and then decided to just shit stuff out for relevance。 I know I sound like I hate the authors but I actually don't。 "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed"。 Yeah we all know what that means when someone says that。Plot? What actual plot。 I mean yes there was a plot but nothing that had me excited to pick up the book everyday。 Nothing worth stretching out over multiple books as these authors enjoy doing so much。 Word vomit, the plot was word vomit。 I could have written this and sold it to someone on Fiver for them to take and make their own。 Maybe that's what they did tho, idk。 Anyways, I wanted to read these slowly as well as Darkmore to stay connected to the world until Book 8 of ZA drops。。。idk when or if I'll pick up book 2 RB。 Maybe I'll try Darkmore again, it seemed less lazy, more thought out。 Or maybe I'll just start ZA again, but with a playlist to vibe this time。 Who knows。 。。。more
